Halls — Halls Crossroads — is our neighbor to the north. Our showroom on N. Broadway in Fountain City is just down the road, so many Halls homeowners book a visit to look at siding colors and window samples before we come out.
Halls has a lot of 1960s–1980s ranches and split-levels, plus newer subdivisions off Emory Road and the side roads toward the ridges. Many of these houses are on their second or third round of exterior updates, and many still have original or early-replacement windows. North Knox Siding & Windows has done this kind of work across north Knox County since 1996 — family-owned, answering our own phones, with our own crews doing the installation.
What we do most often in Halls
Re-siding ranches and split-levels
Older aluminum siding, painted wood, and first-generation vinyl are common here. We tear it off so we can see the wall, replace rotted sheathing, and install new house wrap with proper flashing before the new siding goes on. Popular choices are premium or insulated vinyl for low maintenance and James Hardie fiber cement for a heavier board that won’t rot.
Window replacement
Original single-pane and aluminum-frame windows are still out there in Halls, along with 1990s vinyl windows that have started to fail. New replacement windows with Low-E glass make a real difference in comfort through humid Knoxville summers and winter cold snaps. We measure every opening ourselves, so out-of-square openings in older homes get windows that actually fit.
Gutters, fascia, and drainage
Between the ridges and the creek bottoms, a lot of Halls yards slope toward the house or hold water in the clay. Gutters that are too small, or downspouts that dump at the foundation, lead to wet crawlspaces and washed-out beds. We install seamless gutters sized for the roof, plus guards and downspout extensions — and fix rotted fascia while we’re at it.
Doors and roofing
New entry and storm doors and roof replacement round out most full-exterior projects.
